LONDON WOOL SALES
(United Press Association—Cbpyrieht.) (Received July 11, 3.20 p.in.) LONDON, July 11. At the wool sales best wools were firm. Shabby crossbreds were slow and somewhat irregular. Teviotdalo fetched a top price of ISkl and an average of .18)d ! Leslie Hill 18d and 16 ,d; Omarama 1 -Id and 12id. HORSE AND PRODUCE SALES. Rather disappointing prices were obtained at Wyllie’s Horse Bazaar on Saturday, when Williams and Kettle held their weekly horse sale. One wagon, in good order, obtained one bid of £3O, and was passed in. No bids were obtained for a gig, also in good order Owing, probably, to the scarcity of fodder, ‘horses were not in any demand. Two draught horses, lately doing waggon work, brought between £25 and £3O each. A number of horses showed evidences of the lack of horse fodder in the district. Messrs Samson Bros., auctioneers, report the following prices at their usual weekly sale on Saturday: Poultry: There was a keen demand for all lines, and prices advanced considerably on previous sales. Turkey gobblers 9s to 10s, tin-key liens 4s 6d to 5s 6d, White Leghorn hens 3s 64 to 3s 9d per head, other lines 2s 6d to 2s Dd,' cockerels 2s 9 to 3s per head, drakes 2s 6d, clucks 2s 6d to 2s Sd, eggs Is 9d per dozen, butter Is Gel per lb, potatoes, best Oamaru, 17s Gd per sack, onions Id per lb, Nelson apples Gs to 7s per <ase, hams and bacon 9d per lb. Small vegetables are scarce and in good demand. Mr G. K. Miller reports the following prices for produce sold at Miller’s Mart on Saturday :—Eggs Is Sd dozen, citron melons 3s doben, onions Id lb, pi-cklers 121 b bay Is 3d, cabbage 2s 6d dozen, cauliflowers Is 7d dozen, small vegetables at ruling prices.
