PROJECTED VISIT OF SOUTH AFRICAN ASSOCIATION TEAM. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON. May 6. At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Football Association tonight a letter was received from the South African Association accepting an invitation from New Zealand to tour the Dominion and part of Australia during 1910, on the following conditions:—Team to consist of 15 or 16 players, without a manager. The work to be carried out by the captain till arrival in New Zealand, when the duties would devolve on the New Zealand Association. The programme to embrace two or three matches weekly. New Zealand to defray ail travelling and hotel expenses during the journey and stay in the Dominion. New Zealand to take all receipts and profits,, and to be under no further liability than specified. The team to be prepared for a short programme in Australia on the return journey if time permitted without unduly prolonging the tour, leaving all arrangements-to New Zecjiiid. The secretary stated that tile receipts were estimated at £2030, including 1.350 from guarantees. £l5O from Australia, and £275 contributed by centres towards hotel exprmes. The expenditure was put down nt £l^o3. it was decided to write to the Nevr South Wa’es Association stating that the cost of taking the team to Australia would he £BIO. that without the consent of the Now Zealand Association ffe would not agree to play in Australia, that, with that consent, it would play two matches in each centre, and that it was thought that a fair proportion for Australia to pay would bo £270. It was suggested that New South AVaiW should pay £l2O. West Australia £TH3O; and South Australia £SO.
