LONDON, Feb. 1. There was an excellent sale of wool at late rates.
Messrs Miller ami Craig -report having sold by auction yesterday, at the residence of Airs. Cuff, Whataupoko, one o-ycar-oid pony for £B, horse, trap and harness £lB, and a cow in full profit £lO. A quaiititv of furniture and effects was disposed of at -satisfactory prices. CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALES. [Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 2. The fourth sail-es of the current •season’s series -was held this morning. There was a fair muster of buyers, although the attendance was -not nearly so large as at sales hold ca-rlior in the season, several of the American buyers who previously materially assisted to give stimulus to"the market were absent. The aggregate catalogues totailled '1697 bales, compared with. 7700 bales for the corresponding sale last year, and 8202 at the fourth sale held -in 1907. . Following aro the prices: Merino super SRI to 9d, medium to good 71 d to Sd, inferior Gfd to 7d; half-bred super 9£d to lid, medium to good rtl to 9d, inferior 52d to 72d; three-quarter-bred super dto 92.0, medium to good 7d to Sd, inferior s|d to 62d; crossbred, medium to good 5d to 7fcl; longwool, super 7id to Bd, medium to good 6d to 7d, .inferior 5d to 51 d; Down wool , medium to good 6ld to 7£d; Corrieda-le Ski to lOJd; Shropshire 13 dto If‘id 5 merino 6id to- 72-d, three-quarter Hired Sfd, half-bred 3Jd, 9) t d crossbred 42d, ,5d ; locks 2d, '5-id; bellies fid, /id; ciutchings- 2id, 4 id.
