The third show of the Waivoa- District Agricultural and Pastoral Society- was held on the 22nd iust. in magnificent weather. Theattendance was very llirge, and representative of all parts of- the district, as well as many visitors from Napier and Gisborne. The keenest interest was manifested in all departments. The sheep classes were better than in the two previous years. A special feature was the""number of winners with locally-bred sheep and cattle. The hacks, as .usual, .were numerous and of a good* class, but with the exception of a few cases the riding was on the poor side. In the horticultural division the marquee was not half large enough, the exhibits being too crowded. There was a. very fine show of potatoes. *
