SCHEME FOR INTRODUCING HELPS. (Press Association.) 1 WANGANUI, Jan.' 28. In connection with the domestic service problem, now .prominently before tiro public, the “Chronicle” reports, on good authority, that arrangements ia.ro oil the point of completion, ms the result of which a New Zealand lady, now resident in England, in whom employers may place implicit confidence, will l act in conjunction with the management at this end in selecting suitable girls for employment. Every for appointment will be personally interviewed, and every possible- precaution taken to* ensure- that only girls of a high .stamliird of respectability and efficiency .are sent out. Tho “Chronicle” adds that it is intended to place the Government in possession oi full information on the subject, it being felt tli)it ias the domestic help problem has now been brought officially under the notice of Ministers of the Crown, it is only .reasonable that the Cabinet should be formally assured of the bona, fide® of the scheme whnieh private; enterprise has .devised for the solution of that problem.
