Three stowaways, two girls and a man.i wore discovered on the s.s. \ ictoria during the vessel’s last Hip across from Sydney to Auckland. Due of the girls told a pathetic story. Sue .said that she came from Kogarah, near Sydney, and that both hei fathei and mother wore. dead. Having heard that there was good prospects of employment in,New Zealand, she stowed avvav on the ship. The passengers mi board subscribed sufficient to pay the passage of the. two girls, and tbe money Was handed over to Captain Entwistlc with the stipulation that the girls should place themselves in the care of the Salvation _ Army authorities until employment was found for thorn on, arrival at Auckland. The male stowaway paid Ins passage, and was set at liberty.
