(Press A ssociation.) DUNEDIN, January 26. The second wool sail© of the season was (held yesterday, when catalogues toalliiig 20,366 bales were offered. The total offerings in Dunedin so far amount to 29,116, as compared with 22,446 Giles at a corresponding stage of last season. The increase was set down largely to the disposition of growers to offer their clips at -the loeail sales instead of shipping to London. The catalogue was a record for J) lined in. The attendance of buyers was large, and representative of all British," Continental; and Americancentres and buyers from New Zealand mills, fellmongeries and speeulatiors from all parts of the Dominion were present. The general quality of clip was quite equal to that of hist year. Bidding was animated throughout, and growers appeared highly satisfied with tho prices. A notable feature of the sale was the extreme prices paid for cross-bred hogget woo! of long staple, Tho prices realised were: —Merino super 10c! to 12 Y medium to good Bjd to 9Jd, .inferior 6]d to 7fd; ihalfbred super 10Id to 12-Rl, medium 8d tlo lOd, inferior 6&d to 7RI; crossbred super lOid to 13Jd. good 9il to 10], medium 6Jd to 83d. inferior 5d to 6]d. Taken v all round prices showed an advance on these realised last.
