Copyright MELBOURNE, Jan. 23. 7 The Marine Court held an inquiry into the charge of misconduct against the captain of the En nor dale, arising out of the accident on January 6th. The captain claimed that he struck an uncharted rock. The Court was of opinion that the captain should have remained on the bridge till the danger zone was passed, instead of leaving the. second mate in charge, and in untravelled waters lie .should have taken other precautions. As the Court, however, was not in a position to determine • whether the steamer struck ia charted or uncharted obstruction it -gave the captain tho benefit of the doubt, and dismissed the charge against him.
