BOWLING.
GISBORNE CLUB.' A meeting of the committee of the Gisborne Bowling Club was held last evening. Present: Messrs W. Pettie (President), T. Corson, W. Brady, G. Miller, W. J. Hennessy, T. Clarkson, T. A. Crawford and C. Ambridge (Secretary). A protest was received against the action of the Match Committee in' regard to allowing a bye in the Handicap Fours’ tournament. After discussion at was decided to -refer the protest to the Match Committee to take what action it considered advisable.
TURANGANUI CLUB. At the Turanganui Club’s green yesterday afternoon * three more games in the Bennett Cup competition were played, the results being : W. J. P. Gaudin (20) beat W. H. Douglas (11).—This game was very even until the 19th head, the scores then T “ v '°- Gaudin 13, Douglas 11. Scoria and a 3 on the following heads ~ din had the game won. J. J.« Martin (24) beat W. H. Douglas (10). —This proved an easy victory for Martin, who obtained a good lead, and was never troubled. W. J UP. Gaudin (21) beat M. G. Nasmith, jun. (19).—This was an exciting all through. Nasmith led b> 8 fed. on the 6th head, . but Gaudin evened'"up matters on the 9th head; 8' all. Again on the 13th head Nasmith led by 5, but again Gaudin made the score level, being 15 all on the 16th head. A dingdong “go” then ensued on the last Gaudin, however, having two to the good at the finish.
