Kolling (Caro Kami defence).—On the 27th move Barnes took liis opponent’s rook under a(mistaken impression that he was giving check and thereby lost Ids queen and the game. . Davis v. Mason (Huy Lopez).—Mason’s knight got into trouble on the I.lth move and bis efforts to extricate it gave Davis an oppoiMilufo’- oj attacking strongly. Mason resigned on the 47th move, being un ible to prevent a pawn from queening. Dodds v. Eox (Giuoceo Piano) . Fox lost a knight by hasty play.
