AN OFFER TO BURNS.
MAY VISIT NEW ZEALAND
As the result of an interview between. Messrs. R. W. MoVilley and W'. Coffey, chairman and secretary respectively of the Wellington Boxing Association, and Mr. R, Coombes, editor of the Sydney “Referee,” the last-named gentleman has undertaken, on his return-to Australia, to place an offer from the Wellington Boxing Association before Mr. Kelly, manager for Thomas Burns, of pugilistic fame, and also to confer on the subject of a visit from the champion with .Mr. W. T. Corbett, the Australian representative of the Association. The precise terms offered by the Association will not be divulged at - present, but it is understood that they are attractive. If the offer is accepted, Burns will give two exliibitions in Wellington, and an exhibition in Masterton, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Napier, and New Plymouth, under the' auspices of the Wellington Association. . . If Burns comes to the Dominion, he will be accompanied by his wife, and probably by O’Keefe, und another sparring partner.
