EXPORTS FROM GISBORNE

The following were the exports from tho port of Gisborne during tho month of November. Butter 347 cwt. valued at £lßl3, beef 796ewt., valu oil at £1,487, mutton 6,003 carcases, 2,948 cwt. in weight, valued at £4,129: 3693 skins valued .at £308; 16 tons of tallow valued at £312 and 160,8621b5. of wool valued (at £4,221. Messrs Miller and Craig report the •following prices at Saturday morning’s sale: —'Hens 2s to 3s, roosters 2s Id to 3s, ducks 2s Id to 2s 6d, chickens 9d to Is, turkeys 9s 3d, sggs Is 7(1 to Is lOd, ’blitter J to 1 lei, peas 6d to Is peck, kumeias 3d lb, cabbage Is to l,s 6d sis., new potatoes lid to lid lb, apricots 2d to Pd lb., cauliflowers 4s doz., beans lid lb, onions lid lb., rhubarb 4d to 6d bell., ham lOd lb., bacon lOd lb., sardines 3s doz. There was an exceptionally large entry of poultry, and every lot aws clcured at satisfactory prices. HORSE SALES. •Messrs Williams and Kettle Ltd. yarded about 40,horses of various descriptions at their weekly horse sale on Saturday. There was a dull market and poor prices were realised. Hacks sold at from £3 to £6, harness horses from £5 to £B, a pair of ponies at £6, while a draught horse was passed in at £25. Twenty sacks of oats sold at 2s 6d .per bushel and a quantity of harness sold -at fair prices.

PRODUCE MARKETS. (Messrs F. S. (Malcolm and Co report a brisk demand for all lines of produce at their sale on Saturday. Ducks sold at from 2s 6d to'3s, roosters 2s 6d to 3s 6d, hens 2s 6d to 3s, ducklings 'and .pullets 9d to Is 4d, eggs Is to Is Bd, potatoes Id to lid lb., cabbages Is to 4s doz., onions lid lb., apricots 3s doz lbs., goose berries 3d lb., peas Is peck, lettuces 6d doz., radishes' 2s doz, beets 2s doz, beans 9d peck, cauliflowers 3s 6d to 4s 6 doz, rhubarb 3s to 4s doz bdls. A successful sale of furniture was also held. 'Messrs Malcolm and Co. will sell poultry and produce on Wednesday and Thursday, the sale starting at 10.30 a.m.

The New Zealand Load and Mercantile' Agency Co., Ltd. report on Matawhero sale held last Thursday as follows: As shearing is now in full swing entries were rather lighter than usual and the attendance not quite up to the average. . Sheep:—Our entry comprised 13/ fats which sold at the following prices: Ewes in wool 13s 6d, lambs ils, shorn ewes 11s 6d. , Cattle. —In this department a fanentry of 225 came forward, of which 191 were sold at prices about on par with recent rates and which must be fairly satisfactory to vendors. The following were the day’s quotations: —Fat heifers £3 7s--6d to £3 10, cows £4 10s to £5 10s. At the latter price wc sold a line on account of Mr J. D. Burgess oi really excellent quality. Steers, light weights, £5 17s 6cl to £6, medium £/ to £7 7s 6d, whilst we sold a pen of nicely finished cattle for Mr H. H. AVall at £B. 'Three year old storesteers made from £4 17s 6d to £o 2s 6d whilst grown cattle in better order realised £5 10s to £o 12s 6d, 18months to 2-year old steers £3 los to £4 ss, yearlings to 15 months £2 12s 6d to £2 17s 6d, dairy cows aw! heifers £4 to £5 ss, herd cons £1 os to £3, calves 20s to 29s 6d.
