DUNEDIN, Dec. 20

John Moira, said to bo a South American half-caste, and George Daniels had an altercation in lower Stuart Street yesterday, uuid Morra is alleged to have stabbed Daniels in the chest with -a penknife-.. Daniels, who is a carter, was removed to the hospital, where his depositions -were taken. He ds in ta somewhat critical condition. It appears that the men had a dispute over a cheque for 335. Morra asserts that Daniels struck him on the noso and knocked him down. Morra bus been jar rested on a charge of wounding with intent to commit grievous bodily harm.
