Rattray Street, Dunedin, on Friday afternoon, furnished a scene that at' first seemed to promise a tragic termination. The “Otago Daily Times” says that a dray heavily laden with bricks was being backed towards a building in course of erection, when the horse, an enormous draught, suddenly sat down with extreme violence and 'with his forelegs propped out before him. In endeavoring to get up ho lost his footing altogether, and the drav, tilting forward, pinned him down with the shafts. A constable and four workmen got the animal’s head down and proceeded to sit on it, but the horse asserted itself, and, strewing the policeman and others m various ungraceful positions on the asphalt,- struggled violently. There was a backwash of the crowd as the ponderous hoofs swung about, but the policeman again seized the horse by the head, which was 'held down by about half a dozen men. Some of the bricks fell from the dray on to the prostrate horse, and it was found necessary to emnty the dray backwards. The crash, which accompanied this terrified the already frightened animal. Sacks were brought to .give the horse foothold, and eventually the animal got up, and was led away unhurt. A large part of women’s suffering comes from headache. No matter what the cause, the cure is always found in Stearns’ Headache Cure, which is tasteless, easy to take, ana •eta promptly. > v
