HORSE SALES

Messrs Williams and' Kettle, Ltd., yarded about 60 backs and harness iliorses at their weekly sale on Satairday. Bidding was slow, there being a poor demand for the better class lots offered. Hacks sold lat from £2 to £9, harness horses at from £6 to £l2, while a quantity of saddlery and harness was disposed of at satisfactory rates. The- racehorse The Banker wus offered and passed in at £ls, and the horses advertised to be sold on behalf of Mr. (1. Witters likewise failed to reach the reserve, the best price offered being £2O, while £3O was bid for a nice pair of mares, but as the reserve was £32 they were not sold. PRODUCE MARKETS. Messrs E. S. Malcolm and Co., (auctioneers, report the following prices realised at their produce sales on Saturday : —Eggs Is 6d to Is Bd, fowSs Is lOd to 3s, roosters 2s 3d to 2s 9d, pullets lis Id to 2s 6d, ducks 2s Id to 2s Bd, dairy butter lOd to lid, apricots 5d and 6d per lb, gooseberries 2yd, new potatoes Is 6d to 2s per doz. lbs, onions ljd to 2d per lb, peas Is •peck, beans 9d peck, rhubarb 9d bundle, cabbages Is lOd to 3s per doz, cauliflowers 2s 6d to 4s 6d per doz., turnips Is per doz. bunches, carrots 2s doz bunches, lettuce 9d doz. bunches, lemons 5d per doz. There was a large supply of eggs, which advanced 6d per doz in price.
