SEDITION BILL PASSED.

CALCUTTA, Dec. 11
The Council of India has passed the Sedition Bill, the native members warmly acquiescing. Sir Harvey Adamson mentioned that the organisation of seditious volunteers numbered 15,000 in Eastern Bengal. Their influence , was greatly fostered by boycotting, arson, dacoity (gang robbery), and terrorieation. /

AN APPEAL TO THE INDIAN PEOPLE.

CALCUTTA, Dec. 12. „ Lord Minto, at a meeting of the Council, emphasised that personal and public security were dangerously threatened, calling for stern measures to terminate the apprehensions of hidden danger which were crippling the daily life of the people. He appealed to the good sense of the whole community to co-operate with the, authorities to ensure order and security, thus enabling the Government to turn its attention to Viscount Morley’s projected reforms.
