YOUNG GARNET’S sire, Garnet, is by British Lion (imp.), dam Topaz, by Overdraft; grand-dam by Dugdale (imp.)* Winner of First Prize and Society’s Medal for Draught Stallion at Poverty Bay A. and ~P. Society’s Show, 1896-97-98-1900. His dam, Rose Auckland—Conqueror. Taking into consideration he has the Garnet —British Lion blood on his father’s side, and the Auckland—Conqueror on the mother’s, he should leave great stock. Auckland and Garnet both have stock in this district which would be hard to outclass. YOUNG GARNET has proved to be a Bure foal-getter.
