A meeting of employees in the boot trade was held for tlie purpose of forming a. union of machinists and fitters (femaCes), repairers, and bespoke hands and rough cutters. After hearing an address by Mr. Whiting, organising secretary of the Federated Trades Union, .it was resolved unanimously to comply with the wish of tlie Federation that the present unorganised branches of the trade should be affiliated with the Auckland operators’ union. A SERIOUS ACCIDENT, i INGLEWOOD, Dec. 10. Mr. Franklyn, an old and prominent Inglewood' settler, was thrown out of his trap this morning. He fell on the concrete at Waiongona bridge, and is now in a critical condition. A DIVORCE GRANTED. WELLINGTON, Dec. 10.
