IMPERIAL POLITICS.

MILITANT SUFFRAGISTS. . MR. LLOYDcGEORGE REFUSED A HEARING. United Press Association, Copyright LONDON, Dec. 6. Mr. Lloyd-Georgo attempted to address a crowded meeting of the 'Women's Liberal Federation upon women’s suffrage at the Albert Hall. The militant suffragettes refused to give him a hearing. The stewards carried out dozens of women, struggling and fighting. Other women chained themselves to pillars and chairs, and finally Mr. Lloyd-George was compelled to stop. Sometimes twenty scrimmages were proceeding simultaneously. "Women threw aside their cloaks, and appeared in prison dress. Several of the interrupters were very badly handled by the stewards.

Mr. Lloyd-George succeeded in stating that the Government would draft an Electoral Reform Bill enabling a women’s suffrage amendment to be introduced. If that was carried they would accept the responsibility, but they were unable to introduce the Bill themselves, a sincere and powerful minority of the Cabinet being opposed to it.
