ROTORUA-GISBORNE LINE.
A ROTORUA MEETING
A meeting was held at Rotorua tho other night, at which it was determined to form a league to be called the Rotorua Railway League, in order to further the construction of the Rotorua-Gisbome line from that end. Mr. W. D. S. MacDonald, M.P.. stated that the engineers and surveyors he had spoken to considered that the route via Motu, Opotiki, Whakatane, and Tuneatuta to Rotorua was the best and would open up the most country, containing 650,000 acres, which would probably be opened up at an early date. Mr Birks was elected chairman of the league and Mr. Warburtou secretary pro tom.
