MISHAP TO HER TURBINES.

HOBART, Dec. 4

The Union Steam Ship Co.’s steamer Maheno signalled at Eddystone lastevening that the high-pressure turbines were out of order, the shaft bolt couplings having broken at noon yesterday. The vessel' is proceeding under low pressure engines.

SYDNEY, Dec. 4

The Union Company’s Melbourne office advises that-the repairs required to the Maheno are only trivial. She will take up the running from Melbourne on 'Wednesday.
