-GIiSBORNE CLUB.

The beautiful weather, coupled with the satisfactory condition of the green, caused those members of the Gisborne Bowling Club .who assembled at the club’s grounds on Saturday afternoon- to spend ia very enjoyable time. Three games in the series for the Champion. Cup were played, and resulted as follows:

T. -Clarkson 25, -beat P.altridge 8; Witty 26, beat Boulton 13; F. A. Martin 27, heat Pavitt 17. Other games -were played as follows : Kyme, Bi-rss, Pavitt, and F. A. Martin (skip) 23, beat W. Pettie, T. Clarkson, Collins, and Ponsford (skip) 18.

Wilson, Mclntosh, and Bright (skip) 24, beat Wootton, Hookey, and Simson (skip) 23. The finish of this game was -highly exciting. The scores were even, 23 all, on the twenty-first head,- and on the deciding ilie-ad Mr, Bright drew the shot, winning by one point. TURANGANUI CLUB. The fine weather of Saturday afternoon caused the largest assemblage of bowlers on the Turanganui Club’s green that lias yet been seen on the rinks on any Saturday afternoon-. A number of games were played, hut chief interest centred in ia. match which commenced the second found of the Handicap Fours. The result was: —- Clayton, Edwards, Hird, Colley (skip) 26, -beat Harries, R. Sheet, Bennett, J. J. Martin (skip) 17. In this game Zachariah played as substitute for Skeeet-. Colley’s team received six points of a handicap, which proved too much, for their opponents. On the 4th head Colley’s ■rank was 13 to 2, and 20 to 9 on the 12th head, romping in easy winners by 9 points. To-inorrow afternoon the second round will he completed, when Hallarn’s and Williams’ rinks meet. A number of practice games are to he arranged, -and a pleasant afternoon is to be spent. Afternoon tea will he provided. Entries are- now being taken for Handicap Pairs, closing on Saturday next.
