SITE FOR FIRE BRIGADE.
[To this Editor'.] Sir, —It is a great pleasure to take up your paper and to digest your articles on matters generally; they are so concise and l to tho point, no book-, making about them. You see so much of drawing out of disinteresting matters, filling -up column utter column, that could be produced by half the unnecessary writing. Now, sir, I would very much, like* to know what the Government are going to l do with the old jail and ,the. buildings. The Eire Brigade are now looking out for a new spot for their machinery, etc., and I don’t think that they could do better than ask the Government to hand it over for such a good object, as it is most central, and the Mayor should not. lose time in interviewing Mr. Carroll on the matter. The Borough should not let it out of their hands. Why I write this note is to warn those who are in power, as it very .likely will slip, away from them. (I heard whispers.)—l am etc. • “CONSTANT IIEADEIt,”
