The Rugby Union entertained the Wallabies at dinner. Mr Rowland Hill, presiding, congratulated the team on their great achievements and on playing the game according to- the best traditions l of British sport. The Rev. R. 6. A coal dealer at Wigan has been sentenced l to two months’ hard labor for attempting to bribe Todd and Johnston, New Zealanders, now members of the Wigan- Northern Union football team, to lose a- match.
