It is not often that Commissioner Dinnie (says the Da linevirko '‘Advocate”) ill as the distinction of .looking after the fore© of. a town, but such a distinction fell to him—or to Dannevirke—-on Tuesday last. Commissioner Dinnie arrived by the express train only to find, that Constable Maloney was away on leave, Const abf.e Keane was out looking for an .artful dodger, and Sergeant Crnick.shank was just Heaving"by express train to Conduct ia prosecution at Ormondville. This meant that the town was completely denuded of its police force, and so the genial Commissioner stepped into the breach, and did duty for the remainder of the afternoon, '
