The three-masted auxiliary scow Zingara arrived in the Bay early \esterday morning from Ngunguru, anci ■was brought alongside the wharf before noon, when-Hhe work of discnaiging her timber was commenced. She had a cood trip down the coast, light and variable winds being experienced .She brought close on ot timber for the Alpha iSawmiks. The N.Z. Shipping Co s Rakaia, the first boat of the season to load wool to catch the January sales, will arrive here on Monday from Auckland. She Hoads approximately 2000 bales at this port, after which sue sails for Napier and Wellington, anally leaving the latter port for London on November 21st. The new oil -launch for Messrs Nelson Bros., Ltd., will probably arrive from Auckland by the U.S.S. -Co.’e Squall on her next trip. The Tyser liner Niwaru, and the Shaw, Savil-1 Co.’s Corinthic are both due in the middle of the montn to load wool lor London. Tlie U.S.S. Co.’s Manuka arrives from South to-morrow morning -and sails Later in the forenoon for Auckland and Sydney. The Tuatca -leaves the wharf at G a.m.' and 10 -a.m. (meantime). The U.S.S. Co.’s Monowai returns from Auckland on Sunday afternoon, and continues her voyage South iu the evening. The U.iS.S. Co.’s new steamer Mali lira steamed from Melbourne to Sydney in 30 hours, averaging 17.65 knots. Her best day’s run was 427 aniles. She failed to break the MaOieno’s record of 29 hours 54 minutes. The Maknra lowered the record from Durban with only seven of her eight boilers in use, covering the distance (5569 miles) in 13 days 20 hours, and averaging 16. S knots all the way. BY TELEGRAPH.
