Mr. R. Constou arrived from South by the s.s. Talune on matters in connection with the waterworks contract. Messrs' G. Darton and A\ r . Morgan returned from Napier yesterday morning by the s.s. Talune. The Commissioner of Crown Lands (Air. H. Trent) and Messrs Hyde and Lane, members of tho Hawke’s Bay Land Board, returned to Napier by the s.s; Tarawora last evening. A cable inessage was received in Monday f.rom Capetown announcing that tlie Bishop of AA’aiapu and Miss AVilliams had. arrived tlierp on their way back to New Zealand, all well. At St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church yesterday 'afternoon, Air. AI. Ready, of Gisborne, was married to Miss rNora Buchanan, daughter of Airs J. Maynard. The Rev. Father Lane officiated, and the bride was given away by her step-fatlier. Ala ss Maynard was bridesmaid, and Mr. Buchanan, brother of tho bride, acted as best man. After tho ceremony, Miss A. Neill, assisted by Messrs Vita Bids-’ orchestra, played Atendelssolm’s “Wedding March,” 'and a reception was held at Air. Maynard s residence. The bride was the recipient of many handsomo presents, and the happy couple left by the s.s. Tathe South, where the honeymoon will lie spent.
