The U.S.iS. Co.’s Squall arrived from Tologa Bay and Auckland yesterday morning after a good run down the Coast. She brought a large general cargo for this, port, including transhipments ex s.s. Waitemat a. ~ The Squall returned to Auckland in the evening. The IT.S.S. Co.’s Haupiri arrived from Coast ports and Auckland with a number of passengers. sailed 'again shortly afterwards for Wellington.

The scow Alert arrived from AVhangarei yesterday afternoon about 2.30. Although it was dead low tide she came up t<> the wharf under her own sail, being splendidly handled by Captain Donovan. Nothing of note occurred on the trip, mostly f avorable winds being experienced. The> vessel brings a full cargo of Northern Coal for the Gisborne Sweepfarmers’ Frozen Meat Co. The Westport Coal Co.’s Regains arrived in the Bay last evening from Westport with a cargo of coal consigned to the local branch of the company. Although there was an exceptionally high tide at 8 p.m., she anchored in the Bay, and will come up to the w-harf on . the tide this morning. Captain Mitchell, late pf the barquentine Frank Guy, is in command of the Regulus, Captain Sillars being on holiday leave. * The three-masted iscow ZingaTa was just about six miles astern of the Alert coming down the Coast, and was off. the Wainui “beach, at noon yesterday. She could not, however, make much headway against the strong southerly and hung off last ((light. “Should the wind moderate sufficiently she will probably come alongside this morning. The Zingara brings a cargo of timber for the Alpha “sawmills,, from Ngiinjguru. The schooner Awanui is duo at any time from Auckland with timber and general cargo. , The Tyeer liner Niwaru is expected to load here about, the lOtli November. and will be despatched from New Zealand in time to catch the January sales. - ■ , . The IT.S.S. Co.’s Taluno arrives from South to-morrow morning and sails later for Auckland. The U.S.S. Co.’s Tarawera retnsms from Auckland to-morrow afternoon and continues South m the evening. ~ Messrs Richardson and Co. s Fanny which was to hare arrived here yesterday, was delayed in Napier, and is expected to arrive this morning with general cargo. * She will return to Napier in the evening. The Canterbury Shipping Co. s s.s. Ripple, from Greymoutli, is expected here towards the'end of the week with a cargo of timber.
