TURANGANUI CLUB.
A special mooting of tlio Turnngunui Club was held at the Royal Hotel on Saturday evening, Mr. G. Mattliewson (President )in the chair. The chief business wus’tlio consideration of a notico of motion by Mr. J. Colley, that- active and financial members of other clubs be admitted to 'membership without payment of an entrnneo fee. Mr. Colley moved' the motion in a. brief speech, pointing out the advantages of such a scheme. Mr. J. >V. AVilliams seconded tho motion. A lot of discussion ensued as to .tlio recognition of a financial member, it being ultimately resolved that the onus of proving financial membership shall vest with the applicant. The motion was then put and carried unanimously. Various minor matters affecting tho welfare of the club wore then discussed and the meeting adjourned. A formal meeting is- to bo held on the green next AVedncsday afternoon to elect new members. GISBORNE CLUB.
The threatening afternoon prevented much enthusiasm 011 the green on Saturday afternoon. Two rinks woro engaged, and some very keen play was shown, the ground being in splendid order. Tho following wore the results:—Boulton and AV. Pettic 24 v. AVootton” and J. AV. Witty 22; Paltridge. Collins, Simson 18 v. AVilson, Pavit-t, Ponsford 16.
