CHRISTCHURCH, Octobor 6. Mr. Martin G. Daly, of Akaroa, lias forwarded to the “Press” office care of tho editor of the “Referee,” •a cheque for £IOO as G. W-helch’s deposit to Kind liis match with Tlioroughgood for tlie championship of Australia. Mr. Daly writes: IVhelch .loaves Akaora on Wednesday, and is duo in Sydney on October 13th. He will go straight from there to the Hunter. This will give him about iivo weeks over there before the race. IVhelch is very fit and confident.
