GENERAL NEWS.
Recently a Winton business house had occasion to tnko its cash register to pieces, and while engaged in the task the proprietor roceived a pleasant surprise by finding a cheque for £0 odd *md three single £1 notes in the back of the register. The money had apparently been there for some time, for the cheque was drawn in 1900.
