HOSPITAL SOCIAL.

TO BE HELD IN GARRISON HALL

A meeting of gentlemen willing to assist in the holding of a social in aid of the Hospital was held in the Cook County Council Chambers last evening. Mr. T. G. Lawless occupied the chair, and there was a large attendance. - - . , Mr. E. G. Matthews stated that he had pencilled engagements for -November 6tli and 7th for the use of the new Garrison Hall. On the motion of Mr. A. F. Matthews the dates were fixed for October 29th and 30th. The Federal Band offered to supply the music for the first- night of the social free of charge. All present and all gentlemen oil the social committee last year were formed into a committee to carry out the social. The committee lias power to add to its .number. Messrs J. It. Little and Somervell were appointed secretaries. The committee decided to a6k Mrs. IV. D. Lysnar to call a meeting of ladies to assist-. The prices of tickets were fixed at the same rate as last year, 5s for gentlemen and 2s 6d for ladies, and oil the second night Is for children. The City Band offered to supply the music for the second udght-of the social, and the offers of both bands were accepted. An offer to play the extras was accepted from Mr. AA’ootten’s orchestra. The committee will meet on Friday evening.
