At last meeting of the Canterbury Industrial Association a member sa.nl that he bad observed a paragraph in a ioeal newspaper to 'the effect that the furniture and fittings on order from England for the Consumptives’ Sanatorium were such as could not be obtained in New Zealand. The list included bedsteads, and -he thought, that the statement should not bo allowed to pass, as he understood bedsteads were made in Christchurch. Other members said that the industry had died out about 'three years ago, and that the bedsteads were now only put together in Christchurch. It was therefore decided to let the matter drop.
