THE HAWKE'S BAY SEAT. [Peess Association.] NAPIER, Sept. 22. Mr. T. J. Thompson, Mayor of Hastings, delivered his first address to the Hawke’s Bay electors at Hastings to-niglit. He said lie was a Liberal, but would support measures not men. He was in agreement with the lands for settlement, policy and favored the optional system of tenure with the opportunity to acquire tho freehold on terms which he specified. On the liquor question ho favored a colonial poll. The candidate received a vote of thanks.
