The hearing of tlio case in which Joseph Burke, licensee of tho Record Reign Hotel, is proceeding against the Gisborne Times Co., Ltd., to recover ,£250 damages for alleged libel, will bo taken at the Supreme Court to-day, .before if is Honor Mr, Justice Edwards and a- special jury of four. Tho Court will open at 10 a.m.) the first business of the day being the passing of sentence in the remaining criminal cases. The civil sittings commence at 10.30 a.m., when the libel case, which is first on the list, will he called oil. Mr. W. L. Rees, instructed by Messrs Roes Bros, and Bright, will appear for the- plaintiff, and Mr. Geo Hutchinson, of Wanganui, and Mr. Blair, instructed by Messrs Blair and Siinebury, for tho defendant company.
