Tho following cases have been set down for hearing in the Supremo Court, the sittings of, which cominenco in Gisborne on Tliursduy next 17th inst. Mr Justice ,Edwards- wiIJ bo the presiding judge, and arrives here on Wednesday. With tho qxception of tho criminal list, which is unusually large, there is not a great doal of business to bo got through. CRIMINAL. Joseph Johnson and James Keegan: Breaking and entering and thoft. Martin Malcolm O’Halloran: Itergory and uttering. i James Garroty : Attempted theft from tho porson. William Rowell: False pretences. Albert Lichtwark and Norman Marlow : Theft (five charges). Norman Marlow: Carnally knowing a girl under 1(3 years. Walter Symons: Attempted murder.
Michael Cleary: Breaking and entering. Tu Raroa : Horse stealing. Joseph Dante: Thoft. FOR SENTENCE.
Pldward Boniface, breaking, entering and theft. Dorothy McColl: Perjury. Joseph Dante: Breaking, entering and theft. CIVIL BUSINESS.
Sarah Ruth Cooper and others (Mr Stock) v. John Coleman and others (Mr W. L. Rees.): That tho Court will direct John Coleman to transfer one equal six-sevenths of tho block of laud mentioned’ in the statement of claim to the plaintiffs. To Kamio, Hapo (Mr W. L. Itees) v. W a tone Huka and Kiwi Koto (Mr F. E. Foot): (1) For tho value of 26 pigs, valuo £26, destroyed by defendants, the property of plaintiff; (2) restraining defendants from killing more. Geo. Thos. Soften (Mr Sievwright) v. Frederick Hall (Mr F. W. Nolan) : (1) That the defendant execute to- the plaintiff u transfer of 4 acres 3 roods 22 perches, 6©ction 38, and 11 acres 2 roods 0 porches, part of section 42, upon payniont of £l6l 19s, the unpaid and purchase money for such area; (2) £2OO damage for non-com-pleting, and for failure to give a title for tho full -areas sold. Joseph Burke (Rees Bros, and Bright) v. Gisborne Times Company, Limited, (Blair and Sainsbury), claim £260 damages lor alleged libel. (This case,- which' in the ordinary way could not b© heard at this sittings comes on by the consent of the defendants, who agreed to the request of the plaintiff for short service.)

Henry Jone 6 (Mr Stock), informant, and Daniel Courtney (Mr Finn): Calling upon informant to show cause why -a writ of prohibition should not be issued to prohibit further proceedings in respect of a conviction of tho defendant made on the 4th of November, 1907. Walter James Sykes (Mr Finn), appellant-, and Amelia Catherine Neill (Air T. Alston Coleman) respondent: Appeal from a decision of the Stipendiary Magistrate at Gisborne. John Higgins Martin (Air E.
