The expen- . diture is £912,377. The estimated revenue for next year is £908,8,9, and the expenditure £946,000, but-owing to an expected falling off of the amount to he returned by the Commonwealth, it is estimated that there wilt . he. at the end of the year a deficit ol £24,000. In order to meet the reduced, Commonwealth returns, dnect taxation in the shape of land and income taxes is proposed. the programme includes free education.
