NEW BUILDING IN CHRISTCHURCH. AN INSTITUTE FOR BOYS. [Phesj Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 7. The foundation stone of the new premises for the Christchurch Young Men’s Christian Association was formally laid this afternoon by the lion. George Fowlds, Minister for Education, in the presence of a large and representative gathering. Afterwards the foundation stone of the Boys’ Gordon Hall, which will be a portion of the Y.M.C.A. Buildings, was laid by Mrs J. Cracroft Wilson. The proceedings opened with the singing of the hymn, “All people that on earth do dwell,” after which Bishop Julius offered up prayer. An address by the President of the 'Association (Mr. C. E. Salter) followed, and after tile presentation of a silver trowel, the Minister performed the ceremony of laying the stone.

[The Gordon Hall was founded by bequest of the late Sir John Hall, of whom Mrs. Cracroft Wilson is a daughter.]
