McClure’s Magazine is publishing Kuropatkin’s Memoirs, which show that through Bezobrazoff’s influence tho Czar invested two million roubles in a Yalu timber concession, and favored nobles also invested heavily, llozobrazoff bad enormous influence with the Czar and Dowager Empress, liuropatkin warned the Czar tn-it the timber concession and tho Bezobraz iff policy might cause war, and suggested a withdrawal from Manchuria, and handing Port Arthur and Kwat-Ui'g to China. Eight weeks later wtr was opened at Yalu.
