Messrs Pencooke and Co. report that the scow Gau-net is leaving Mangateto shortly with a shipment of 90,000 ft of kauri timber for tliat firm, and it is probable that the Torgauten will leave Grey mouth this month for Gisborne with a shipment of timber. also consigned to the firm. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s R.M.S. Turakina left Capetown on Monday for New Zealand, vi-r Hobart. An explosion of benzine occurred at two o'clock yesterday morning in the storo room of the Moann at Dunedin. Throe men in the room at the time dashed out, covered with flames; They wero the ship’s storekeeper and two young engineers, ond one of the latter was removed to tho Dunedin Tlospit il.
