ENTERTAINMENTS. IRENE AINSLEY’S CONCERTS.
Perhaps 110 singer of recent yearn has loomed more largely before the public eye than the above young singer, New Zealand’s contralto, whose concerts in this town are net down for Thursday and Friday, September 3 and 4, in His Alajesty’s Theatre. Winning, as she has done, in hut four years, a great place amongst the singers of the day, Aliss Ainsley may be said to have exceeded even the most, sanguine hopes of her New Zealand friends, and her concerts throughout- this country are being awaited with the utmost eagerness. Aliss Ainsley had been but two years 111 England when she received Their Royal Highness’ command to sing at Alarlborougli House shortly after her fimous debut concert in tlie Bechstein Hall, which had been attended. by Their Royal Highnesses. A strong company has been got together for the tour, including Air Hamilton Hodges, New Zealand’s favorite baritone.
