OUR BABIES.

A WORTHY SOCIETY. In our supplement this morning appears the lirst of a series of interesting and instructive articles on Our Babies . The articles deal 'a a capable manner with the care and protection of child life, and all that pertains thereto, and are published under the auspices of the Society lor the Protection of Women and Children. The main object of the Society is to stimulate interest and to raise the standard of knowledge and thought- among women on all matters affecting the health oi themselves and their children. Ihe first branch was started a year ago by Dr. Truby King, at Dunedin, and branches have been formed in Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch. The enormous success achieved by the Society and the tremendous value its teachings have been to mothers lead the promoters to hope beloro long for a largo extension in its field of operations. The information the Society diffuses is all reliable and authoritative, and abreast of the most advanced knowledge of the day; and no pains will be spared in the clirection of rendering all advice or instruction given as simplo and practicable as possible. The ‘‘Times’’ li.as .arranged for a weekly column similar to that appearing in papers in other parts of the Dominion,..,and the mothers of Gisborne will doubtless derive no Jcsb benefit than have those elsewhere in Now Zealand.
