THE SEVENOAKS MURDER. A SENSATIONAL DEVELOPMENT. AN EXCITED STRANGER. United Piiebs Association. Copyright (Received August 30, 8.7 p.m.) LONDON, August 29. A sensational incident is reported by tho police in connection with the Luard murder. Last week a man put up at an hotel at Sevenoaks, and intimated his intention of staying for a fortnight. On Monday last he was unable to pay his bill, but said ho expected a remittance. Ho went out, ostensibly to transact business, and returned at 4 p.m. in a very excited state. Ho explained his agitation when settling with the landlord on Tuesday, saying that instead of proceeding to the neighboring village oil tho previous day ho was compelled to cycle to London. Oil Wednesday, Chief-Inspector Scott, of Scotland Yard, who was staying at the /same hotel, noticed that tho sranger was greatly agitated. The latter paid his bill and left, remarking to the landlord, “This man seems to he a detective watching mo.” It has been ascertained that Mrs. Luard was murdered at 3.15 on Monday afternoon.
