DISSATISFIED WORKERS.

CANTERBURY AGITATIONS. DISAPPROVAL OF JUDGE SIM. [Peeks Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, August 24. A special meeting of tho executive of the Farm Laborers’ Union was held on Saturday evening in the Trades Hall lo consider tho decision of the Arbitration Court. The following resolution was unanimously carried:—

"That this union, seeing that Mr Justice Sim has refused the farm laborers of Canterbury an award of the Court, and being convinced that such a decision could only have been come to after a complete disregard of tho facts proved hu evidence and by an unreasonable and invincible bias against, the workers, demands tho immediate removal of Mr. Justice Sim from tlio Arbitration Court Bench, and, further, this union desires to express its strong conviction that actions manifesting such incompetence and weakness as are to ho found in the decision made, constitute a grave menace to tho industrial welfare of the Dominion.” Tho Secretary was instructed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Trades Councils, Trades Unions, and Labor organisations of tho Dominion, urging them to pass tho resolution, and forward it to tho Minister for Labor and to tho local members of Parliament. It was docided to issue a petition, and to canvass for signatures from ono end of the Dominion to tho other, asking the immediate withdrawal of Mr Justice Sim from the Court Bench. It was resolved to invite Trades Councils, Trades Unions, and Labor and Progressive organisations to support the petition. Tho question of placing the full facts before the country workers was fully discussed, and it was unanimously‘resolved to immediately send three paid organisers into tho country to hold simultaneous meetings in South, Mid, and North Canterbury. Similar resolutions demanding the removal of Mr Justice Sim wero adopted at a meeting of the Canterbury Trades and Labor Council on Saturday night, and at an open-air meeting hold under tho auspices of tho Political Labor League yesterday.
