WELLINGTON, August- 23. Dlr. Harrison, a Wliangarei storekeeper, is to be tlie Government candidate in opposition to Dlr. Dlander at the uext election. He is an advocate of the single tax and the bare majority in local option polling. Dlr. Slieat will oppose Dlr, Witty for the Riccarton seat. Dlr. Slieat is a farmer, and he took a great interest in the recent farm laborers’ arbitration case.

Dr. Chappie is practically certain to contest tlie Tuapeka seat against Dlr. Macplierson. Dir. Scott will be the Opposition candidate.
