LONDON, August 19.. There was phenomenal scoring in the county cricket matches, 29 centuries being registered in 8 days, including ten tliis week. Surrey scored 532 for eight wickets (Marshall 167), and beat Kent by an innings and 318 runs. Essex scored 573 runs for. 9 wickets against Northampton (f'*cGalley 230); Middlesex, 534 runs for 8 wickets, against Notts (Tarrant 144 not out) ; Lancashire, 506 runs, against Leicestei.
