WINTER SCHOOL.
YESTERDAY’S PROCEED IN CIS,
Tllo session of the Gisborne At inter School was continued yesterday. Mr. Clark gave a demonstration ot eirdboard modelling in the morning, and Mr. Grant followed with a locturo on elementary agriculture. It was intended that the teachers should lmvo outdoor instruction during the afternoon, but as the weather was threatening, Mr. G. ,S. Beyliss, ot the Agricultural Department, delivered a lecture on simple agricultural experiments for schools. Air. Unyliss dealt with the mechanical and chemical properties of soils, simple methods of determining the germinating properties of seeds, and to the study anil selection of plants. The school will bo continued todav, and in the evening Mr. J. A. Gil ruth, M.U.C.V.6., Chief Government Veterinarian, wilt lecture an Holy Trinity Schoolroom on “Microbes and how they affect Animal Life.” The lecture will be open to the public, without charge of any kind.
