At S. Ferdinand© di Roiano. in Italy, the now parish priest, while celebrating a solemn Mass on the occasion of beginning his new duties, perceived that the wine had a very bitter taste. Ho spoke about it to the sacristan, who, to verily the matter, drank some of the same wine. A few moments later both were seized with violent pains. A doctor was summoned, and discovered that they had been poisoned by sulphuric acid, which had been placed in the wine by some unknown hand. The priest and sacristan both died after terrible sufferings. Another cleric, who was jealous of the new parish priest, is suspected of the crime. THE ONLY CURE.
