The Privy Council refused to reverse the judgment of the Supreme Court of Jamaica relating to claims arising out of the earthquake. The (Scottish Union and National Fire' Insurance Company contended that the fires mere caused by earthquakes, making the exemption clause applicable. The respondents contended that- the fires mere accidental. The appeal mas- dismissed. The decision mas received at Kingston with great demonstrations of joy.
