ANOTHER WIRELESSTELEGRAM fleet APPROACHING AUCKLAND. United Piiebb Association. Copyright iSYDNEY, August 4. Router’s Agency has received a further wireless from the American licet: At 8 p.m. on August 1 they were 1500 miles -from Auckland. At 7in the morning they passed tlio eastern end of Tutuila, steaming along the coast in single column, close inshore, and giving the inhabitants_ a splendid view. At 9 in the morning the fleet headed direct for Auckland, tho cruising formation of a lino of squadron being resumed. The speed was reduced to 9J knots, in order to avoid arrival at Auckland before August 9th. The hospital ship Relief stooped at Pago Pago to coal, and will follow the fleet to Auckland. Reuter’s Agency has received the following wireless telegram from the United States fleet: 8 o’clock, Sunday evening, Auckland distant 1260 miles. Fleet steamed 240 miles in the last 24 hours. All well.

THE GOVERNOR’S MOVEMENTS

AUCKLAND, August 4

The Governor, Lord Plunket, accompanied by Lady Plunket, arrives in Auckland via tlio West Coast by the s.s. Takapuna on Friday in connection with the visit of the American fleet. Capt. Lyon, A.D.C., with Their Excellencies’ household, arrives in Auckland by the Tutauekai from Napier to-morrow. On Saturday the guests who are to stay at Government House during Fleet Week will arrive in the city.

AUCKLAND ARRANGEMENTS.

ADDITIONAL CELEBRATIONS

The Auckland Citizens Reception Committee has arranged the following additional entertainments- for Fleet Week:—

Deer-stalking and wallaby-drive for party of officers, Thursday and Friday, at Motutapu and Kawau Islands. Golfing at Cornwall Park, under the auspices of the Auckland Golf Club. Tennis (asphalt): Facilities will ibe provided for visitors. Motor Trips: Automobile Association have placed cars at disposal of committee for the use of visitors in m iking trips round city and suburbs. Chess: Auckland Chess Club have placed their rooms at the disposal of members of the visiting fleet. 1.0.G.T. Lodges will entertain a number of the members of the fleet ou the evenings of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, August 11, 12. 13, 14. Sailors’ Home, Quay Street, will entertain a number of the members of the fleet each evening during the week.

Museum, Princes Street, will he open from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m., 7 to 10 p.m.

Bands will he playing at night in Queen Street and Karangaliape Road. Highland Pipe 'Band will parade tile main streets.
